Communicating a medical company’s research for an investment exhibition.
Ceryx Medical is a start-up company that has been going for 3 years. The company spans out from the Universities of Bath and Bristol in 2016 following successful joint scientific research. They build electronic systems which are designed around biological equipment which can mimic nerve centres within the body called Central Pattern Generators (CPGs).
Brief: The client wanted to exhibit their work to potential investors at a university showcase fund. They wanted some smart, reusable exhibition materials that simply communicated the work to a nonscientific audience.

This project is a great example of how we have used patterns and photos to represent the combination of technology and biological matters to create a cohesive, informative design. We built on Ceryx’s brand by creating flexible, organic design elements that highlight the unique properties of the product while not being too technical or overwhelming for potential investors to understand. We specifically focused on images related to the three areas the technology can be used within the body; heart, muscles and spine.
The exhibition materials were used at the Bristol university showcase.
