Client & Brief

Ionix Advanced Technologies is a materials engineering company who acquired funding to develop a new ultrasonic transducer. The innovative piezo technology incorporated in all their devices, stems from work completed during one of the founders PHD’s.

Exhibiting their new products at relevant tradeshows/conferences is an important aspect of their marketing. Ionix wanted to show the capabilities of HotSense ultrasonic transducer in a clear and informative manner so that their customers could quickly understand each of the products and it’s benefits.

Process

The client wanted a data sheet and flyer, extending their HotSense and Ionix marketing materials. They were presented at tradeshows to inform readers of the HotSense device and focus on it’s unique capabilities.

  1. Firstly, we examined the content Ionix had sent us and decided on how we were going to present the material and identify what information was needed to effectively explain the product in a visual, informative way. We did this by providing the client with sketches to illustrate how we wanted to present the device and it’s three systems.
  2. We then had a meeting to discuss the content and identified the key pieces of information. We suggested that the three systems be presented in a comparison table as it was helpful in explaining the device to Ionix’s potential customers. The layout of the table also made it easier for readers to establish the differences of the three systems; Manual inspection, Hybrid and Autonomous.
  3. We then looked at laying out the information and making it fit in a logical way while trying not to overwhelm the reader. We also rendered some of their CAD models with KeyShot to clarify the information in a visual way.
  4. Using CAD software OnShape and KeyShot we created and rendered a CAD model of a elbow bend pipe to show that the transducer could be fit on the bend of a pipe; a unique property of the products and something that would be demonstrated at the tradeshows. We made sure this and the comparison table were a dominant feature on the flyer and easy to read and understand.
  5. Once designs had been agreed upon the client was provided with print ready documents.
Final Product

We created a detailed overview of the HotSense product and outlined the key features of the device using effective, clean layout design while applying the HotSense and Ionix branding.

CAD design was a focal point of the materials produced as it logically explained the product by visually showing it’s three different systems on one pipe and including the fact that the device can be installed on an elbow bend; a unique property of the product. While also using rendering software to develop their CAD models to be more effective in explaining the product.

Project Outcome

The client was delighted with the data sheet expressing that:

“The data sheet looks amazing!”

Both the data sheet and flyer designs were greatly received by everyone on the Ionix team. It was then taken to trade shows in America and Australia and can be seen on Ionix’s Twitter.
